Travel to UAE – Part3 – Abu Dhabi – Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – Ferrari World – Dubai Mall Aquarium Updated for 2024

Updated: April 6, 2024

Abu Dhabi is a two hours drive from Dubai by road. I boarded an Air-Conditioned bus from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station. Sheikh Zayed Road connecting these two Emirates offers spectacular views of Dubai’s iconic Skyscrapers.

The largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in the capital city – Abu Dhabi. The spectacular 82 Onion Top domes and the white Macedonia marble surface were shining in the bright sunlight.

The intricately designed interiors have one of the biggest chandeliers in the world & the world’s largest handwoven carpet. Grand Mosque is the most ornate place of worship I have ever seen welcoming people from all faiths and religions.

The Ferrari World is the first Ferrari branded theme park located on Yas Island on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. Formula Rossa is the World’s Fastest Roller Coaster, accelerates 240 kmph in just 5 seconds, scared the hell out of me. I rode in Flying Aces and Turbo Track as well, enjoyed other funny activities, food and shows in the Ferrari World. In the end, I was roaming amongst the spectacular & powerful cars symbolising the passion, performance and beauty.

Dubai Gold Souk is glittering traditional market showcasing an eye-catching, authentic and gleaming myriad of Gold Jewellery. On my last day in Dubai, I was wandering through the traditional spice souk, enjoying a visual as well as a sensory feast.

Inside the Dubai Museum, I saw everyday life before oil discovery & came to know the original heritage of this desert city. At the ground level of Dubai Mall situated the largest suspended aquariums in the world with 10 million litre water tank. Thousands of aquatic animals across 140 species, including over 300 sharks and rays are moving freely in this aquarium.

Before coming back to India, I visited this stunning shopping mall twice because one day is definitely not enough to explore it all.
