Welcome to Day 2 in Dubai where we visit the Souks in Bur Dubai and go for a Sunday Roast at Logs & Embers on Palm Jumeirah.

Dubai’s souks are legendary, so take some time to wander around these traditional Arab markets, soak up the atmosphere and pick up a bargain.

We start off in the covered alleyways of the Textile Souk. The many shops here offer a range of hand-woven and machine-made fabrics in cashmere, silk, cotton and wool. We then catch an abra (water taxi) for the short ride to the opposite bank in Deira where we find the Gold Souk, Spice Souk and Perfume Souk all within walking distance.

Hungry, we then head on for Sunday lunch. Nestled on the breathtaking shores of Palm Jumeirah, Log & Embers is a family friendly beach restaurant with panoramic views of the city skyline and the serene beach.

The kids play and we relax and watch the sunset before taking Esme for a late evening swim before bed!
