It is a designated as a wetland reserve. The reserve is a haven for birds. In the winter months, when migratory birds are here, up to two hundred species can be spotted. It is best known for its large flock of Greater Flamingos. Birds can be observed from three hides; Mangrove Hide, Flamingo Hide, or Lagoon Hide. Flamingo Hide is the most popular and is the best place to view the Greater Flamingos. It’d be better if you bring binoculars for closer view since birds are bit away from viewpoint. And there is one distant viewing machine though.

One of the best times to visit is at flamingo feeding time; roughly 10 am and 4 pm each day.
