■ CREEK PARK:
Dubai Creek Park is a large public park in the Umm Hurair area of the city. It offers acres of landscaped gardens and lawns, shaded paths and a good selection of family attractions. It is also known as Creekside Park. The Dubai Dolphinarium and Children’s City are located at the southern end of Creek Park. Dubai Dolphinarium is an indoor attraction offering dolphin and seal shows. Children’s City is an educational centre for kids with hands-on exhibits. Both are reasonably priced.

A promenade walkway runs along the bank of the Dubai Creek. It offers great views of sailing boats and the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club on the other side of the water. Creek Park boasts several play areas. All have modern equipment like swings, slides, climbing frames etc and offer shade. Bikes can also be rented from a concession near the main entrance Gate 1. The park is a popular spot of family picnics. Designated BBQ areas offer grills and seating. There’s a beach area a the southern end of the park plus an amphitheater occasionally used for concerts and events. The cable car in Creek Park was closed for safety reasons around 2015. It has now been dismantled.

Facilities includes: Food kiosks, prayer rooms and toilets. Entrance Fee: 5AED by NOL Card or by cash. Entry is free for children under 2yrs old and the disabled. The entrance fee does not include entry to Dubai Dolphinarium or Children’s City. These are priced separately. Park timings: Open every day of the week. Sunday to Wednesday 8am to 11pm. Thursday to Saturday 8am to 11:30pm. Nearest Dubai Metro Station is Dubai Healthcare City and is walkable up to the main entrance.

Nearby restaurants: La Tablita Mexican Restaurant, Market24 Casual Cafe in the lobby of Hyatt Regency Hotel, Eve Penthouse and Lounge Rooftop bar on the 34Floor of Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights with shisha, DJ and great views of the city and Andiamo! Italian Restaurant at Grand Hyatt Hotel.

■ DUBAI HEALTHCARE CITY:
Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is a healthcare free economic zone situated in the Emirate of Dubai, UAE. DHCC was launched in 2002 by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. DHCC was mandated by the government to meet the demand for high-quality, patient-centered healthcare, and the main aim is to attract tourists to Dubai for medical services and treatments. Through strategic partnerships, DHCC provides a wide range of services in healthcare, medical education and research, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, wellness and allied support.

In 2014 alone, visits to DHCC were up 20% to 1.2 million from 1 million in 2013, of which 15% were medical tourists. According to DHCC, the most popular procedures sought by medical tourists to DHCC include infertility, cosmetic and dental treatments. Most medical tourists came to the DHCC from the Gulf Cooperation Council area (37%) and wider Arab world (25%), though 20% came from Europe and 18 from Asia.

DHCC, overseen by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), operates through four divisions: Healthcare, Education and Research, Investment and Regulatory. Marwan Abedin, Chief Executive Officer of DHCC,[23] serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, the legislative body of the free zone. Is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Emaar Properties PJSC and of Al Jalila Foundation, a not-for-profit organization under Royal Decree.
