20 upcoming projects in Dubai to be excited about this year

Dubai is a city that’s always changing, always developing and reshaping its skyline year after year. And 2021 is no different, with loads of plans and projects in the pipeline to get excited about.

Address Dubai Beach

The eagerly anticipated Address Beach Resort on Dubai’s JBR opened in late December, and it’s a first beachfront property for Address Hotels & Resorts. If you’ve been in the area any time lately, you’ll have noticed the massive 77-storey hotel, which will boast a stunning sky-high infinity pool and ZETA, a cool bar on the same floor that’s due to open in January.

Ain Dubai
We’ve eagerly watched as this project has come together and now as the pods are being attached we’re getting closer to the launch. Located on Bluewaters Dubai, Ain Dubai is a giant ferris wheel with a staggering height of 210-metres making it the largest of its kind in the world. Once open you’ll be able to enjoy panoramic views over Dubai.

Aquaventure

The hugely popular waterpark is due to open a massive new expansion soon, to make it one of the largest waterparks in the world and there will be 12 new rides.

Atlantis The Royal

This is an absolutely massive development, on the Eastern crescent of the Palm Jumeirah, which will house almost 800 guest rooms and more than 230 serviced apartments, as well as restaurants from world-famous chefs including Heston Blumenthal.

Circle Mall

When this opens at the heart of Jumeirah Village Circle, it will span more than one million sq ft including a 400,000 sq ft shopping, dining and entertainment space. There will be 200 shops, an enormous supermarket, two department stores, a multi-screen cinema complex as well as dining outlets and a food court.

Dubai Creek Tower

Dubai is already home to the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa don’t you know, but now there’s a new kid on the block (almost). With ambitious plans to once again push the feats of engineering and take us even higher into the sky, The Dubai Creek Tower is set to become the world’s largest tower once completed.

Dubai Harbour

Have a yacht to moor? Dubai Harbour is a luxurious waterfront development set between the Palm and Bluewaters Dubai, and will be a massive new marine destination. When Dubai Harbour is completed there will also be a helipad and various restaurants and shops and a cruise terminal.

Dubai Hills Mall

Dubai Hills is rapidly growing, and the mall is hotly anticipated. Dubai Hills Mall is located at the intersection of Al Khail Road and Umm Suqeim Street, within the Dubai Hills Estate. It’s an 11m sq m mega development and will have more than 650 shops and restaurants, over two floors. There will also be an 18-screen rooftop cinema.

Expo 2020

Expo 2020 Dubai will open to the world on October 1, 2021 until March 31, 2022. The global event will see visitors from around the world visit the site to see incredible attractions and network in the UAE.

Legoland Hotel

A Legoland Hotel is set to open in Dubai next year, and it looks like it’s going to be a whole lot of fun. It will be at Dubai Parks And Resorts and is feature a disco elevator.
Opening 2021. 

Meydan One

Ground broke on the project in March 2019, and this 40 million square foot complex is scheduled to complete within three years, but we’re still waiting on a final date. There will be 600 retail stores, a dancing fountain, a one kilometrelong indoor skiing slope, 100 restaurants, a cinema and more.

Museum of the Future

You’ll have seen this stunning building on Sheikh Zayed Road. The museum will be a place for learning and will explore the big issues of our time and explore technological advancements to make it a better future.
