Updated: April 6, 2024

Dubai Creek Harbour, 10 minutes from the Burj Khalifa in downtown Dubai is nestled in the banks of the historic Dubai Creek near the Ras Al Khor wildlife sanctuary is the UAE’s newest luxury waterfront mixed-use development. Dubai Creek Harbor was created with the vision of building a world class sustainable city center. With extended green spaces, the development aims to bring a balance to city living and emphasize more to a sustainable lifestyle.

The development consists of residential, education, and entertainment spaces, but also boasts an impressive 750,000 square meters of retail space, which is the current flagship project for a joint-venture between EMAAR and Dubai Holding. The entire site was designed to embrace the historical and cultural importance of Dubai Creek while adopting modern sustainable design techniques and beliefs. Dubai Creek Harbour will be a hub for residents and tourists alike to live, shop, visit, and experience modern Dubai.

Designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, the major icon of the development will be the Dubai Creek Tower, which is expected to be the world’s tallest building upon completion in 2021 standing at 1345 meters tall. Calatrava has stated that “the building’s design is inspired by the Islamic tradition, evoking the same history that brought the world the Alhambra and the Mosque of Cordoba. These architectural marvels combine elegance and beauty with mathematics and geometry. The design of the tower of Dubai Creek Harbour is rooted in classical art and the culture of Dubai itself.”

Dubai Creek Harbour’s public realm is spread around the Dubai Creek Tower and incorporates nine different districts featuring multiple facilities from residential buildings to shopping and dining options. It also includes a one-of-a-kind water feature located at the entrance of the new 5-star Vida Creek Harbour hotel. The main design intent of this interactive splash pad was to create a wave-like, undulating tunnel effect in which you can have a walk-in and in the exit, voila! The Dubai skyline with the magnificent Burj Khalifa is in front of you! Accompanied by 72 of Crystal’s RGBACL LED lights and set against a backdrop of downtown Dubai, Dubai Creek Harbour’s water feature is a one-of-a-kind experience for all to enjoy.
