Dubai Beaches

Dubai is home to some of the best beaches in the UAE!

Many of the beaches are affiliated with hotels, and accessible only to their guests or visitors prepared to pay a hefty fee. However, there are beaches that can be enjoyed at no cost whatsoever or for a minimal charge. Lifeguards, clean sand, showers and changing rooms are ever-present. Jumeirah Beach and Al Mamzar Park have been awarded ‘Blue Flag beach’ status.

Swimmers should note that Dubai beaches may look calm, but are notorious for strong currents. So, please be vigilant and cautious when swimming.
Jumeirah Public Beach

Jumeirah Public Beach or simply Jumeirah Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Dubai which is awarded the ‘Blue Flag Beach’ certification for adhering to strict international standards. The beach is an ideal picnic spot for families with round-the-clock lifeguard service and sports facilities. There’s even a library unit on the beach and books can be borrowed for free. The beach has a soft, stretch of golden sand, palm trees and grassy areas, making it one of the most desirable beaches in Dubai. The Jumeriah Beach Park adjacent to the beach features desert garden, children’s playground, cafes, barbecue areas, however, park section which is closed for renovation due to Dubai
Umm Suqeim Beach

Umm Suqeim Beach (Sunset Beach) is an attractive, bustling sandy expanse known for its stunning views of the Burj Al Arab due to its proximity. This beach provides shade from the heat, changing rooms and shower facilities, wifi and plenty of lifeguards. It is very popular with Jumeirah residents and Western expatriates. It is a free public beach open 24 hours a day. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes surrounding it as well as some barbeque areas so we recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks to have a little picnic or family style barbeque. The beach gets crowded during the weekends, so it is best visited early in the morning.

The beach is 10 miles (16 kilometers) from the downtown area and easily accessible by car or public transport. The nearest metro station is First Gulf Bank on the Red Line.
