Dubai’s $30B Palm Jebel Ali was once one of the world’s biggest abandoned megaprojects. After the 2008 global financial crisis, this massive artificial island sat unfinished in the Persian Gulf for nearly 15 years.

Now, Dubai is bringing it back as part of its Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
