Trip from Windmill Cellar – Al Ghantoot to Deira Clock Tower

Fondly known as the Dubai Clocktower, is a historical monument on the intersection of Umm Hurair Road and D89. Stop by this photo-worthy attraction that represents the rapid commercial development of Dubai.

The tower is a key landmark signifying the first land-crossing between Deira and Bur Dubai, across the Al Maktoum bridge. It was also the first connecting point for major routes leading to Dubai, before the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Road was constructed.

Built in 1963, the clocktower remains an iconic symbol signifying access to the bridge, as well as being a distinguishable clock in the city. It was renovated in 1972 but remains the same, revamped with sturdier materials.

This attraction is free to visit and does not require any booking. You can either view it while driving past, or walk across the bustling streets of Deira to capture a fabulous photo of the iconic landmark.
