Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood حي الفهيدي التاريخي; also known as Al Bastakiya) is a historic district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The town of Al Bastakiya was primarily built by the affluent Persian Merchants drawn to Dubai by the rich trade opportunities dates back to the 1890s, it was named after the southern Iranian town of Bastak.
Once dubai municipality wanted to destroy but after the interventions of Prince Charles and Rayner Otter, a British architect, they decided to preserve and renovate it. Now this town gives a nostalgic feeling and a famous tourists attraction of Dubai.
