I secretly made this video in between breaks when I was a part of a conference at Concrete in Alserkal Avenue. The building is designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. The site is the location of a series of talks and performances by many artists, curators and writers. The name of the conference is Asia Contemporary Art Week. Alserkal Avenue is a cultural district in Dubai inhabited by galleries, and many cool shops and restaurants. As this video is shot on a weekend, you can see hundreds and hundreds of people here. It’s packed! I hope you will have a small impression of these spaces. It’s quite special in Dubai, especially when everything seems to be within mega-malls.
