Updated: April 11, 2024

Bur Dubai, Deira, Port Saeed, Soukhs
Bur Dubai is a historic district in Dubai located on the western side of the Dubai Creek, across the Creek is Deira historically the centre of Dubai. One of the more traditional methods of getting across Bur Dubai to Deira is by abras, small boats that ferry passengers across the Dubai Creek. Port Saeed is a bustling small port along Deira’s shore of Dubai Creek. It holds some of the dhow cruises and small shipping boats in Dubai. The soukh districts are located on either side of the creek. Traditionally, dhows from East Asia, China, Sri Lanka, and India would discharge their cargo and the goods would be bargained over in the souks adjacent to the docks.
